Three Days in Tennessee

Doing anything the weekend of June 11, 12 and 13? If not, you might want to gas up the car, grab a tent and a sleeping bag and head on down to Manchester, Tennessee. Bonnaroo announced its lineup and, well, it’s one of the most impressive I’ve ever seen.

Here are the highlights:
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band Phish (2 Shows!) Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, David Byrne Wilco, TV on the Radio, Gov’t Mule, MGMT Band of Horses, The Decemberists, The Ting Ting, Okkervil RiverAnd trust me when I tell you, that’s only the half of it. I didn’t even mention Béla Fleck, David Grisman and Allen Toussaint.
Now to compare, the year I went, the headliners were Dave Matthews Band, Widespread Panic and Trey Anastasio solo. Not bad, but not nearly as good. This year is something else and were I not already going to Jazz Fest in New Orleans, I’d have to find a way down to Great Stage Park.
