Shea Stadium

Update:

Shea Stadium is no more. Sadly, the final piece was pulled down today at noon. If you haven’t seen, here’s some video. I didn’t shoot it, so credit where it’s due to Nymdan, perhaps the most thorough documenter of Shea’s deconstruction.

Yes, this is a music blog, but I do have another passion: New York Mets baseball. I had the pleasure of saying goodbye to an old friend this Valentine’s Day. I took the 1 to the N to the 7 out to Shea Stadium to see the remaining structure in its final days. Soon, it will be a but a memory and a pile of scrap metal. Below, I’ve included some videos and pictures from my day.
